Ausmin Australia
Ausmin Australia partnered with Landcare Queensland during December 2008 to help support education and capacity building within the Landcare and community natural resource management network in Queensland.

Ausmin Australia have not only committed one dollar from every tonne of fertilizer sold in Queensland to supporting capacity building events, but will also hold a series of biological farming information seminars throughout 2009, based on their ‘Smart Farming’ program.

Ausmin Australia specialises in the development of biologically focused farming products and programs where the best of conventional and organic methods are integrated into a logical, best practice regime.  The Smart Farming program developed by Ausmin focuses on the concepts of biological farming to improve the profitability of farming operations by working with the natural processes of soil, improving the management of inputs, creating healthy soils and understanding practices that may negatively impact soil health.

Ausmin’s mission is to facilitate the production of natural, premium quality foods, fibre and fuels through biological soil management, with a belief that this will result in healthier consumers and help revitalise the environment.

By partnering with Landcare Queensland to provide support for capacity building events in Queensland, Ausmin’s commitment to realising this belief is demonstrated.

Econolight is proud to be at the forefront of this technology and is committed to the wellbeing of the environment. Econolight’s Directors are passionate about conserving the environment in both their personal and corporate lives. To this end they strive to find business avenues that will result in the reduction of emissions to the environment. Partnering with Landcare Queensland by donating five cents from the sale of every Econolight CFL sold reflects Econolight’s philosophy; it’s a partnership that Econolight is very proud of.

ENERGEX
South East Queensland’s electricity distributor, ENERGEX, has joined forces with Landcare Queensland to support the development of a Junior Landcare activity program in South East Queensland. The first year of the ENERGEX Junior Landcare activity program will see ten primary schools within South East Queensland work with a local landcare group to participate in an on-ground activity, learning about their local environment through hands on participation.

The Junior Landcare activity program mirrors ENERGEX’s commitment to environmental sustainability, focusing on engaging a new generation of environmentally aware citizens by providing students with the chance to learn how important caring for our natural resources is, for our societies, economies, and the environment.

The Junior Landcare activity program allows students the opportunity to participate in an environmental activity day, and experience the environment in a manner that they may not usually have the opportunity to. With the support of ENERGEX, Landcare Queensland and a local Landcare group, students will learn about the natural environment while having fun in an out of classroom setting and also develop an on-going relationship with their local landcare group and environment.

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology (SNP) is one of the largest pathology practices in Australia. As part of the Sonic Healthcare group, it operates 21 laboratories and over 200 collection centres and  provides comprehensive, high quality pathology services for patients and their doctors, private hospitals and nursing homes throughout Queensland, northern New South Wales and Darwin.

SNP was formed in 1956 when Drs John Sullivan and Nick Nicolaides started a small pathology practice to perform tests on patients seeing Specialists on Wickham Terrace in Brisbane. SNP’s Coffs Harbour and Grafton laboratories recently became the first private pathology labs in Australia to be awarded international environmental certification. This is the first step in the entire SNP network becoming certified to the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Systems standard.

During 2009-2010 Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology will continue their commitment to environmental awareness by holding corporate volunteering days in 15 locations across regional and metropolitan NSW and QLD. The projects will give employees of SNP the opportunity to get their hands dirty and make a tangible difference to their local environment. By becoming engaged in local landcare projects they will learn more about the natural landscape in which they live and work. Rather than just giving money to a carbon-offset company, we will all be able to be involved.

In 2010, MQ implemented an environmental levy for Queensland based events. Under the levy, riders are charged a fee to participate in events and the entire proceeds are used by Landcare Queensland to conduct environmental projects on and around MQ event sites.
