Witness King Tides Project | 19 January - 9 February Green Cross Australia needs you, and as many other Queenslanders as possible, to take a photo or two as part of the Witness King Tides project. Your photos of the impacts of high tides will form a mosaic of snapshots of what our coastline could look like in the future as a result of sea levels rise. Having this visual collection of images will help us be better prepared for a future where sea levels are higher than they are today. If we can envisage future change, we can plan and prepare for it now. This summer, the Queensland coast will experience king tides from 19 January - 9 February. Kingtides are a natural part of tidal cycles and give observers a sneak preview of what higher sea levels could look like. It’s fun, free to participate and can help in caring for our coasts. Visit www.witnesskingtides.org to register and find out when to grab your camera and head to the coast. |
