| Sponsorship guru announced as final keynote
|
|
Not for profit
sponsorship guru Julian Moore, has been confirmed as the final keynote speaker
for the Queensland Landcare Conference taking place in Ayr next week.
Julian is a
highly regarded sponsorship practitioner who has worked internationally and in
Australia to help not for profits build relationships with corporate partners. He is also an
accomplished and entertaining speaker who comes armed with real world examples
of how others have succeeded in securing hundreds of thousands in corporate
sponsorship dollars.
Geoff Penton,
Chair Landcare Queensland said the landcare community was honoured to have such
a high calibre speaker at this annual event. “While we’re all
focused on the business of better land management, it’s easy to lose sight of
the actual management of our groups,” Penton said.
“Having Julian remind us of the benefits of corporate partnerships and the
steps necessary to build good working relationships with corporations is
timely,” Penton said. “I have no doubt our landcare groups will leave the
conference refreshed and energised by Julian’s presentation.”
Julian and his
wife Belinda have built an innovative social enterprise helping not for profits
to work more effectively. Between them, they have delivered services to
thousands of not for profit organisations in Australia and abroad, including
those working in land management and conservation sectors.
“Obviously,
we’re thrilled to have such accomplished not for profit consultants freely
share their expertise with us,” Penton said.
Registration to
attend the keynote presentation and other sessions in the conference is still
open. For more information contact Event Manager, Wombat Creative on 0421 709
519 or email landcare2011@wombatcreative.com.au. Special
discounts are available to residents of the Burdekin.

| 2011 Conference focuses on generations of guardians |
|
The 2011 Queensland Landcare Conference, which was held in Ayr from 20 – 23 September focused on the generations of guardians responsible for land and culture stewardship across the state. Graham Anderson, Chair Lower Burdekin Landcare Association who hosted the 22nd annual event said the theme reflects a number of issues. “Firstly, we acknowledge the role Traditional Owners have played as environmental stewards over thousands of years in Australia. Secondly, there are many people who have been involved in landcare since its inception in the 1980’s and they have a lot of knowledge and passion to share. But most importantly, there is a whole new generation of landcarers – young people, students, Gen Y – who are showing a new level of interest in the environment and sustainability. We want to foster this generation of guardians and make sure they have the resources and support they need to make a difference for the future.” |
